About

Welcome to ChildFund Connect!

We provide a space for children, living in different parts of the world, to communicate and learn with each other.

What is ChildFund Connect?

ChildFund Connect is a free, child-led educational program facilitated by ChildFund Australia. We provide opportunities for 10 to 14 year old children in Australia and developing countries to learn about each other's lives.

We have two goals:

  1. To inspire global-mindedness in children by connecting them with their peers around the world
  2. To help raise the voice and agency of children in Australia and developing countries through collaborative communication activities

What we do

We facilitate international linkages and media collaborations between children in Australia and developing countries.  We connect with communities where ChildFund Australia and the wider ChildFund Alliance are implementing development projects. You can find out more about ChildFund Australia's work here.

Between May 2010 and February 2011, we connected four Australian primary schools with four communities in Vietnam and Laos. Children shared communications pieces with their partner group through a ‘question and answer’ video engagement.

What’s on for 2011

We are linking two Australian primary schools with a community in Timor-Leste and testing a collaborative multi-media project.  We are also trialling our website with a group of year 5, 6 and 7 students and hope to launch it offically in July 2011.
